Below is a list of restaurants that we or our Guests have recommended in Puerto Vallarta. If you have one you would like to recommend please submit at the Comments option within this Overview. We will then publish it for other users to read on this page.
Magna Magna
We would like to mention this small homey Italian restaurant, we've been many times. It's a one person operation as far as cook etc but he makes very good food. In April 2012 the new location is Lazaro Cardenas St 454. Colonia Emiliano Zapata..if something you want is not on the menu, he tries to accomodate you.
Sea Monkey Restaurant
The Sea Monkey is a newer restaurant right on the beach front in the Romantic Zone. The food is superb, & very reasonable prices, as well as $1.00 cervesos & margeritas. Also have an excellent $2.00 drink menu with all your fruity cocktails. We highly recommend trying this restaurant, & I guarantee you will return. Open for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
ElDorado
ElDorado was our favorite beach hangout during the day...they have a great setup - beach chairs...huge beds or comfy couches...
The food is also fresh and delicious...best guacamole on the beach.
Make sure you ask for the bed and try to book a massage...nothing like laying by the ocean and getting a massage...
Vista Grill
Vista Grill the best restaurant in PV...best view...best food...best service
This was our second time visiting Vista Grill and we were blown away again...
This is a place that you wanna get to before the sun goes down...you can catch some amazing sunsets from the terrace...
Vista Grill is so romantic! My boyfriend and I enjoyed our dinner very much.
We started off with crab cakes and mushroom potstickers...both delicious...
I had Chilean seabass (best dish of my vacation) and my bf had the shortribs (tender and full of flavor)...chocolate dessert was awesome...
Full wine list and great cocktails...knowledgeable service compliments the experience...
Definitely worth going for a romantic evening or to celebrate a special occassion...don't miss it!
FYI Vista Grill is a sister restaurant of LaPalapa on the beach.
Blue Shrimp
Nice atmosphere, right on the beach (romantic zone, I think). Beautiful views of the sunset if you get there at the right time. Live music. Service was terribly slow. When placing your order go with what they know. In other words, get the shrimp. Everyone in our group that got shrimp loved it. Those that didn't wish they did. A bit pricey.
Las Carmelita's
For the absolute best view of PV take in Las Carmelita's Restaurant up in the hills above PV. The taxi ride is somewhat expensive at 120 to 150 pesos each way but go at sunset for a spectacular view and don't forget to bring your camera. The food is good, not outstanding but good. This is one place you have to visit at least once for its amazing view.
