Pan American Games in Guadalajara 2011

The 2011 Pan American Games, officially the XVI Pan American Games is the 16th Pan American Games and will be held from October 14–30, 2011 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.  Some events will be held in nearby cities including Puerto Vallarta. This will be the largest multi-sport event of the year with approximately 6,000 athletes from 42 nations expected to participate in 36 sports. The 2011 Pan American Games will become the third Pan Am Games hosted by Mexico and the first held in the state of Jalisco.  

Puerto Vallarta will host 4 events during October 16-23:  sailing, open water swimming, triathlon, and beach volleyball.  The venues for each of these events in Puerto Vallarta are:
 

Sailing will be held at the Vallarta Yacht Club,   


Open water swimming and the Triathlon will be at the API Maritime Terminal, and 
 


Beach volleyball will be held at the Pan American Beach Volleyball Stadium.
